Dr. Juan M. Alcantar grew up in Oxnard. He attended the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and completed an internal medicine residency at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. His medical oncology and hematology fellowship was completed at Harbor-UCLA and City of Hope Medical Centers.
